No wonder the card gave me dismal performance. I bought this WI-FI card to use on my notebook computer and when I had troubles with the card. It would require me to reboot every time I used the computer. I called the company and when I was unable to submit a serial number (there was a blank space where the serial number was supposed to be) they told me then it was reconditioned. There was no disclaimer of this and to say the least I was PO'd. This was a giant hassle and to say the least I jerked the card out of the notebook and inserted the old Linksys WI-FI card and set it up and never looked back.I ended up selling this reconditioned card for next to nothing loosing my investment. The card was not very expensive, but it was the idea of the fact, it was reconditioned without telling me it was so.
it is and does what its' supposed too. easy to install and painless to connect any router I have tried so far. Fast enough for all I ever need to do.
After several disappointing experiences with WiFi adapters (e.g., see my review for the Sabrent PCI-G802), I tried going with a PCMCIA-based version. This one worked perfectly and with very little effort. One of the most satisfying products I've ever bought from Amazon.
The delivery time was prompt, as always, from Amazon. I wanted a wireless laptop card to use in a very old computer using Windows ME as the operating system. I installed the included software, plugged the card in and was instantly on the internet. After some research I discovered that not many cards claimed to work with ME. I ended up ordering the Netgear WG511NA Wireless G Pc Card. No problem with installation and no problem with the card. I highly recommend this card to those who have an older operating system.
This is the second or third of these units I have bought over the last ten or so years. They go in easy, connect easy and are plenty fast.I'd give them four starts, except I have to replace them every two or three years.
